A: During this unprecedented time when hockey is not being played around the world, we have ample supply of our normal Sparx products and we currently have unused capacity in our manufacturing facility. After talking to colleagues at other companies and learning of efforts to make protective face shields, we realized that we too could repurpose a portion of our manufacturing facility to make protective shields and help the medical community.

Q: What is the Sparx Protective Face Shield made of?

A: The Sparx Protective Face Shield is made out of PETG (.010” thick), polyurethane foam and an adjustable elastic strap for a customized fit. The Sparx Protective Face Shield is intended for single use only and should only be used with medically approved masks. Shield is not impact resistant and should not be used as eye protection. Do not use as protection against open flames.

A:The Sparx Protective Face Shield is being assembled at the Sparx Hockey manufacturing facility in Acton, Massachusetts.

Q: Does the Sparx Protective Face Shield meet medical requirements?

A: The Sparx Protective Face Shield does NOT meet ANSI Z87.1 standards. The Sparx Protective Face Shield is intended for single use only and should only be used with medically approved masks and eyewear.

Q: What is the timeframe to get the Sparx Protective Face Shield delivered?

A: We are currently in full production and have immediate shipping on all orders.

Q: What is the cost of the Sparx Protective Face Shield?

A: The Sparx Protective Face shield will be sold essentially at our cost (including materials and labor) and will be available in packs of 10 for $59. Each Protective Face Shied is individually wrapped.

A: The safety of our employees is of utmost importance and we have modified our production facility to limit contact between employees and ensure there is adequate distance between all employees assembling the Sparx Protective Face Shield. In addition, we are cleaning and sanitizing all equipment multiple times per day.

Q: Are you able to ship the Sparx Protective Face Shield outside of the United States?

A: As we receive orders we will determine the best approach to meet the needs of the medical community in the fastest way possible. Depending on order volume and location, we may restrict where we ship the product in order to get the most protective face shields to the most medical professionals.
